PPF Installer / Automotive Film Technician
Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland
My Paint Doctor is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented PPF Installer / Automotive Film Technician to join our team. We work with everything from daily drivers to luxury, performance, and exotic vehicles, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work on every vehicle.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing paint protection film and is comfortable working on different makes, models, body styles, and panel shapes. We’re looking for someone who understands that proper preparation, clean installation, attention to edges, and a quality finish are just as important as getting the film onto the vehicle.
Responsibilities
Install clear, satin, and color paint protection film (PPF)
Prepare vehicle surfaces properly before installation
Complete full-front, partial, individual-panel, and full-body PPF installations
Properly align, stretch, trim, tuck, and finish film for a clean installation
Inspect completed work for bubbles, lifting, contamination, exposed edges, or other imperfections
Safely work around painted surfaces, trim, sensors, cameras, and other vehicle components
Maintain a clean and organized installation environment
Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality
Communicate with the team regarding installation progress or any issues found with a vehicle
Help ensure every vehicle is completed to My Paint Doctor’s quality standards
What We’re Looking For
Previous professional PPF installation experience is strongly preferred. You should be comfortable completing installations with minimal supervision and have a strong eye for detail.
Experience with any of the following is also a plus:
Color PPF
Satin or matte PPF
Window tint
Vinyl wraps
Ceramic coatings
Paint correction or automotive detailing
Luxury, exotic, or performance vehicles
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is dependable, careful with customer vehicles, willing to learn, and genuinely takes pride in their work.
